Injury Information
The wobble balance board has been proven to aid rehabilitation and strengthening of ligaments, tendons, muscles and joints. Below you can find information on lower leg and ankle injuries, which will benefit from the use of a wobble board in rehabilitation.
AnkleAnkle Sprain - Pain and joint stiffness. High Ankle Sprain - Damage to the ligament connecting the Tibia and Fibula at the top of the ankle. Tibialis posterior syndrome - Pain on the inside of the ankle from dislocation of the tibialis posterior tendon. Peroneal tendon dislocation - Pain on the outside of the ankle from dislocation of the peroneal tendons. Impingement of the ankle - Pain at the back or front of the ankle due to impingement. Medial ankle ligament sprain - Sprain to the ligament on the inside of the ankle. Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome - Pain radiating into the foot and heel. Peroneal Tendinopathy - Pain and inflamation on the peroneal tendons on the outside of the ankle. Total Achilles Tendon Rupture - A complete rupture of the achilles tendon. Partial Achilles Tendon Rupture - Often the athlete will not feel a partial achilles tendon rupture at the time. Achilles Tendonitis - Inflammation or degeneration of the achilles tendon / achilles tendinopathy.

KneeAnterior cruciate ligament sprain - Sprain or rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament, often caused by twisting the knee or an impact to the side of the knee. Medial Ligament Sprain - Sprain or tear to the medial colateral ligament of the knee. Often caused by impact to the outside of the knee. One of many common knee injuries caused in contact sports such as football and rugby. Posterior Cruciate Ligament Injury - Injury to the posterior cruciate ligament, often caused by hyperextension or bending the knee back the wrong way. Lateral Ligament Sprain - Sprain or tear to the lateral ligament on the outside of the knee, often caused by impact to the inside of the knee which over stretches the ligament. Osteoarthritis of the Knee - Osteoarthritis is the degradation and degeneration of this articular cartilage. Lateral Cartilage Meniscus Abnormality - Knee injury involving pain similar to that in Iliotibial Band Friction syndrome. The lateral meniscus becomes inflammed or has degenerated. Medial Cartilage Meniscus Injury - Knee injury to the medial cartilage or meniscus causing knee pain to the inside of the knee. Can be caused by twisting the knee, over flexing (bending) or over use. Articular Cartilage Injury - Or Osteochondritis dessicans - damage or flakes off the hard cartilage that lines the ends of bones. Lateral Cartilage Tear - Knee injury involving torn cartilage or meniscus towards the outside of the knee. |
